17/52: a portrait project

" a portrait of my children, every week, for 2015."

Little Fox| feeding your dinosaurs and busy creating. Oh those cheeks.

Miss Five| always creating, sharing or talking.

Siblings| There was so much laughter as daddy pulled faces. Anything for those precious giggles.

I'm joining Jodi over at Practising Simplicity for the 52/2015 project. Moments captured with a Iphone 6. Our sojourn to the redwood forest with our community over the weekend. So blessed, so grateful, so much love. Such treasured times.

16/52: a portrait project

" a portrait of my children, every week, for 2015."

Little Fox| creating, exploring, always on the move.

Miss Five| Busy creating a play space, at home with your space.

Siblings| joining in play at Nana's. These are some of the final days spent here surrounded by my childhood home that's filled with memories of your adventures and growth.

I'm joining Jodi over at Practising Simplicity for the 52/2015 project. Moments captured with a Iphone 6. I'm realising this is a season of slow blogging for me and I'm ok with it. I'm nurturing my tribe, creating, making and finding time to be still. Winters coming and I want to hibernate. Take things at a snails pace. What about you?

Birthdays and new learnings

It's my birthday this morning. A new dawn and another year. I spent some time just sitting this morning being still. I acknowledge the movement and current of my life with renewed gratitude today. I awoke to my tribe's abundant love and greeting.

Each step in this journey, I'm coming closer to my centre. Letting go of things that hinder and take joy. I'm sitting with much contemplation and my fingers itch to write. My hands hold all that is sacred in my life and I feel so full of its great life and beauty today. The whisper of it, so strong. Breathe, smile, wait, walk, time, time, time. There is a great dance of knowledge deep within this imperfect spirit. The open weave of my struggles, longings, truth and need for love creating a tapestry that leads me forward. Embracing simplicity, celebrating this creative life and honouring moments of connection. Mindful, beheld in life, honest, broken, beautiful, content, accepting.

Today I thank the sacred feminine, my mother and acknowledge the fruitfulness of my life in all its pure simplicity and mess. Happy 'birth' day to me.

15/52: a portrait project

" a portrait of my children, every week, for 2015."

Little Fox| Attempting yoga practise, you were so joyful (taken by Miss 5)

Miss Five| Savasana your favourite yoga pose. Stillness and quiet for a full 60 seconds.

Siblings| There was so much laughter and a little bit of yoga.

I'm joining Jodi over at Practising Simplicity for the 52/2015 project. Moments captured with a Iphone 6. I've been busy getting the house to rights, hoping I will find some time to write. If it's quiet here then head on over here and you'll find me capturing our lives daily through the lens. Take the time to tell me what you have been up to? How are things?

14/52: a portrait project

" a portrait of my children, every week, for 2015."

Little Fox| Addicted to gathering sticks and playing with driftwood. This was the perfect beach adventure.

Miss Five| always there to guide and teach your brother. He is really lucky to follow in your footsteps in life and intentional learning.

Siblings| hunters and gathers.

I'm joining Jodi over at Practising Simplicity for the 52/2015 project. Moments captured with a Iphone 6. There is something simple in accepting the daily rhythm of life and embracing it. Ads' uncle was over from NY and for the past three weeks we have immersed ourselves in family time it's been abundant with day trips, time at the beach, forest and river and most of all together. Now we are home again and I am getting through mount washmore. I've started writing again and you'll see more of it here but this week I've been sewing, creating, playing and enjoying my children during the school holidays. It's been really nice to allow it all to flow. If it's quiet here then head on over here and you'll find me capturing our lives daily through the lens. Take the time to tell me what you have been up to? How are things?

13/52: a portrait project

" a portrait of my children, every week, for 2015."

Little Fox| I look at you and realise that you are growing up. Independant, curious, strongwilled, funny and adventurous.

Miss Five| there's a longing for discovery and story that comes out so beautifully when you play.

Siblings| bare foot, sand between your toes and time to explore. Heaven.

I'm joining Jodi over at Practising Simplicity for the 52/2015 project. Moments captured with a Iphone 6. I'm realising more and more that there are seasons of life that are captured with photos. A visual story of our lives and other times where reflection happens through the written word. Both are such strong rituals in my life.
I've been busy. It's one reason why it's been so quiet here on the blog. I've also been taking time out to think about my life and why living a simple and authentic life is important to me. Years ago l became shut down emotionally by lethargy and bitterness that l struggled to see the beauty around me and appreciate all the things going right in my life. I also learnt to stop taking on things that weren't my responsibility and that only I can take responsibility for my behaviour and beliefs. I stopped holding things so tightly and l learnt to let things go. It was a turning point in 30's, where once again l took stock and changed my life. I embraced a grace filled life and stopped trying to be everything. So I've been taking some time to have a seaside sojourn, enjoy my tribe and think about things. It's been really great to aware of where l am at and have renewed gratitude for my life. What are you grateful for?
