12/52: a portrait project

" a portrait of my children, every week, for 2015."

Little Fox| always at play

Miss Five| rainbows are home to you

Siblings| Creating a Queens place and throne. You guided your brother through constructing the grand palace, it was such an adventure.

I'm joining Jodi over at Practising Simplicity for the 52/2015 project. Moments captured with a Iphone 6. I've realised this week that sometimes it's simpler to take a breather and get the housework done. There hasn't been much blogging of late. Family has taken first priority along with sewing orders and trying to get Tully over croup and his cold. The days are short and the nights long. I'm getting through it by practising mindfulness. Accepting daily life and the challenges we all face, slowing down and accepting that sometimes you can't achieve everything you set out to do. With the end of the school term and the beginning of the school holidays I'm looking forward to slow mornings, lazy days and a slower pace. What are you looking forward to?

I'm joining Jodi over at Practising Simplicity for the 52/2015 project. Moments captured with a Iphone 6. I'm making some headway with the housework and small sewing projects and the etsy shop is being redone today. I hold out for slow mornings, time for intentional learning when on school break, time on the couch to cuddle and tell stories. I'm praying tully starts to recover really everything stops when little ones are sick. Thank you to those that have placed orders for pencil rolls and crayons this week it's been so lovely. What have you been up to?

" a portrait of my children, every week, for 2015."

Little Fox| perfection

Miss Five| such wondrous adventure and a free spirit

Siblings| Intentional learning drawing with colour and from nature.

I'm joining Jodi over at Practising Simplicity for the 52/2015 project. I've had such a turbulent week and l have been mindful to stop and take a deep breath. To remember what is important and to go back to what makes me happy.
Truth for this week- Forget yesterday. It has already forgotten you. Don't sweat tomorrow. You haven't even met. Say goodbye to bad situations and let it all go. Say no more to things that don't bring joy. Instead, open your eyes and your heart to the truly precious gift; today. My tribe I have gratitude for all that goes with our family of ours, for my life, my friends and for being able to have the gift to find the silver lining even if it takes a while. I choose joy in abundance this year. To live an intentional life and enjoy it simply.
Moments captured with a Canon 50D with a 28-135mm lens this week, no filter, natural light and an Iphone 6. The crayon and pencil rolls can be purchased for $30 and also custom fabrics/orders are welcome just message me at poppyfoxathome@gmail.com if interested.

The end of Summer| The garden series

The sunflowers have stood tall and welcoming all summer long, a smorgasbord for native birds until this morning. After heavy rain and winds it was time to harvest the heavy heads and dry them out for next summer.  We have spent afternoons drawing what is in the garden and harvesting crops for evening dinners. Beds of beans and zucchini fill much of the front garden and the corn is coming to the end of it's growing cycle. Snow peas have started to come up around the corn trellises for a late crop of beans before the long days of Autumn are upon us. Bags of tomatoes have been harvest and the tomato covered teepee's are beginning to dry out and finish their fruiting. We have enjoyed a plentiful daily harvest of tomatoes, beans and zucchini's all season. Stir fry's, roast dinners and salads have been easy go to dinners from the garden.
