Pepsi Next three ways

 product talk by Nuffnang

When l was asked to give Pepsi Next a try by the guys from Nuffnang, l thought let's have some fun. It was a great opportunity to try using a soft drink a couple of new ways. I thought today I'd tell you a little bit about it and share the many ways we've been enjoying Pepsi Next especially during the recent heatwave. At home we don't buy soft drinks often because of the high sugar content, but I was really interested in how Pepsi Next contains 30% less sugar and is naturally sweetened using Stevia. Stevia (GI 0) is made from the leaves of the stevia plant, which has a GI of zero, so is great for diabetics or those with fructose malabsorption. You only need about 1 teaspoon of stevia powder instead of a cup of sugar and I've used it in cooking and baking as my mum has diabetes and I need to be mindful when preparing meals.
Whilst soft drink is an occasional treat I really enjoyed how refreshing it was. And Pepsi Next is a better, healthier alternative than coke.
It's been a really hot summer and a lot of our time has been spent outdoors in nature or at the beach. There is nothing better than ice cold drinks on hot days. We've enjoyed Pepsi Next over ice with slices of lemon, in cocktails, as a granita and also as a frozen alcoholic slushie {this you really should try}. I was really impressed with it and Pepsi is inviting people around Australia to take part in a blind taste test of Pepsi Next vs the high sugar Coca Cola for themselves. All you have to do is head over to there Facebook page for more information {go here}, go on check it out.

The ways we've had it.

We made a cuban cocktail once we finally got the kids asleep because let's face it we deserve something special after dealing with our little monsters. We put shot of Havana Club Anejo Especial rum, a couple of ice cubes, a few quirts of lime juice and topped with Pepsi Next and garnished with a wedge of lemon.

We had it with slices of lemon over ice
We froze it into ice cubes to make a alcoholic slushie, 1 tray without alcohol for Miss 4 {really important you label the trays} and the other with a shot of Vodka.
3 seconds/speed 5 in the thermomix and you have a refreshing after dinner treat
Great for those 30+ degree days where all you want is cold drinks.

Give it a go I don't think you will be disappointed.
