We spent a week at the beach making sandcastles, in the waves, kicking our feet, collecting shells and being still. Beach walks and family time just taking in the beauty of our Australian coastline. Being down the Great Ocean road is like coming home to a good friend, no matter the conditions it's always joyful and fun. It was a perfect week hot days in the 30's, light winds and little plans. There were so many adventures and cherished times and photos I took which I'm sure I'll continue to share but this collection is all about the beach this week.
So here goes:
1-3. Lorne pier and shoreline
4. Miss four loves rock pools. Exploring them for sea creatures, shells, and their formation.
5. We studied the local flora using our senses. This was a favorite of mine along the Lorne pier to beach walk.
7-8. Sleep times and little limbs. We let go of our routine and began listening to the rythmn of our kids and their needs each day. Our adventures embraced when they needed to play and rest and it was a lesson in letting go for me.
9-12. Long beach days at Airley's Inlet, Hutt Bluff, Anglesea and Barwon Heads.
13-14. Montessori lessons. Nature studies, sibling play with sand and building tools, practising the art of sharing and yoga practise.
15-16. Watching the shadows cast on the sand, the tides and the colour and beauty of a sunset.
I'm joining em over at the bettleshack for Stills: a weekly collection. You can see previous Stills here. It's so hot this week and I'm mindful of keeping cool and holding onto that restful holiday feeling now we are home. I'm conscious to not rush or be bound by time. Things will happen as they need to. This week I hope you are able to find time each day to take a moment to be still and breathe, acknowledge your surroundings and embrace the breath wherever you are.
