BITS + PIECES: Stills- a weekly collection

There's heavy rain outside. It's cold. Puddles crowd the path outside. My little ones are still recovering from illness and the pace has been slow at home. Winter is the time to go within. To stop, rest, and replenish and that's exactly what we've been doing. Catching up on housework, getting piles of washing done, slow-food, baking, storytelling, some sewing, crafternoons and making cubbies. A playdate and outing to the collingwood children's farm when the rain stopped and the sun came out. I've cherished the small moments of happiness and wellness this week. Watching Little fox sleeping soundly after being up much of the night. Cuddles on the couch and shared moments with Miss Three.
We have returned to morning rituals, montessori lessons, nightly prayers and bedtime stories. I've been reading and there's a hot cup of tea in hand, often followed by another. It brings immense comfort to take a moment for myself, immerse myself in truth and take rest when exhaustion sets in. There is evidence of winter everywhere in the home and outside. Around here we have been taking note of the changes. Our need to rest when tired. Finding warmth wearing beanies, socks and snuggling under homemade quilts. The hyacinths are flowering inside in white and hues of purple. The garden taking on more colour, the ground moist and full with fallen leaves. We have noticed the cold creeping in, the afternoon light fading fast and the fire being on to keep warm. How have you spent your week?
